Teo Martino is a self-taught artist whose sculptural calling stems from a chance encounter with clay. Trained in the artisan workshops of Piedmont, he transformed the rigor of stone carving into a spiritual discipline. Through a dry, rhetorical hyperrealism, Martino sculpts symbolic objects of the present—weapons and technological devices—to explore themes of violence, time, and human fragility. For the artist, the value of his work lies in the creative process, understood as an act of inner transformation: a solitary challenge where marble becomes a master of life.
